Monica McClain

is an illustrator and mask-maker who explores nature, science, and mythology through a visual lens in a variety of media. She has a BFA in Communication Design, emphasis in Illustration from Washington University in St. Louis, has taken classes at Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles, and has studied art abroad in Florence, Italy at the Santa Reparata International School of Art. She searches to connect the whimsical with the factual by highlighting the miraculous beauty of the natural processes that occur around us everyday.

Monica currently lives in Danville, Indiana on 11 acres of pasture. She hails from Southern California but has previously resided in St. Louis, Northern Virginia and New York City. Each of these places has influenced her work in some way.
